Things Are a Little Crazy

So, it turns out that I've not been very good at ensuring my son learns good dental habits. In fact, I've been so bad at it, Kieran is now awaiting to have 6 fillings and 2 extractions. They'll all be done in 11 days. Under general anesthesia. I'm such a crappy mom!

But, I'm getting better, because I'm actually taking care of the problem.

It is going to cost us dearly. Not being credit people, we have to liberate a significant amount of money from our retirement savings in order to get the surgery done.

And, since we are raiding our future to make today better, we're taking out a little extra and getting our car fixed (dead since January), buying that laptop I've been moaning about (seriously, if you are going to upgrade to one of those fancy MacBooks being released on Oct 14, let me know, I'll totally buy your old working MacBook), squaring away our monthly bills and getting a few things we've been skimping on lately (or flat out not buying because we are, you know, like, poor) such as shoes, underwear, socks, a hangy thing for in the shower that holds your shampoo and soap...

In the meantime, I have to put full strength Anbesol on Kieran's one tooth in order for him to eat meals (unless they are mushy). And I keep him on a light dose of children's Ibuprofen so that he can sleep without getting pain induced nightmares.

What isn't a little crazy is me.

It's been two weeks, and a bit, since I swallowed that first magical oval pill and I'm rather thrilled to discover that I'm feeling pretty good. In fact, I'm feeling so good, at times, my husband is a little freaked out. This Leanne hasn't been living with him in a long damned time and I'm not sure he is ready to hang our with her again.

This is the woman who liked to drink lots of vodka and flash Robert Pollard her sparkley boobs. This is the woman who loved to listen to music and hang out talking and maybe dancing around. This is the woman who was so obviously full of life and love and silliness and spontaneity.

I'm sure he'll feel more comfortable as this Leanne takes up permanent residence in the house. I know I'm sure glad she's here.
